My Body as Ally Manifesto
Living longer means more than extending my years beyond the average lifespan.
It means living those years able, mobile, and engaged — free from pain and physical restriction, and capable of moving through daily life with ease and confidence.
I choose a body that supports my independence.
I value ease of movement, stability in my hips and knees, and a level of brain acuity that allows me to stay curious, capable, and present.
I am no longer willing to tolerate the gradual decline of joint comfort and mobility, particularly the loss of synovial fluid in the joints that support my movement and balance. I take this seriously, and I act accordingly.
I am no longer willing to consume heavy, fatty foods or foods sweetened with sugar simply to enhance flavour. I choose nourishment over stimulation. I avoid highly processed foods and instead favour simplicity, freshness, and quality.
I choose to eat lightly, using fresh produce and foods free from chemical additives designed to extend shelf life beyond what is natural.
I choose not to rely on alcohol as a social lubricant.
Clarity, presence, and genuine connection matter more to me in this phase of life.
My body is my ally.
When I listen, nourish, and move with intention, it responds with energy, resilience, and ease — allowing me to live this chapter fully.
